Pedal Triangle

11. Animate the Pedal point P about the incircle of ABC. Trace the loci of the midpoints of the sides. What curves result? Repeat if ABC is a right triangle.

Step 1: I created a pedal triangle DEF from point P outside of triangle ABC with the extended sides of that triangle.

Step 2: Added Incircle to triangle ABC.

Step 3: Point P merged with Incircle.

Step 4: Created midpoints G, H, and I of sides of triangle DEF.

Step 5: Placed traces on midpoints G, H, and I and animated pedal point P.

Step 6: The following figure created from traces when triangle ABC is an acute triangle.

Step 7: The following figure created from traces when triangle ABC is a right triangle.

Step 8: The following figure created from traces when triangle ABC is an obtuse triangle.
